Hello Stephane,
I have just checked a photo of the Memorial at Spean Bridge, which I managed to get signed by many of the Vets who were staying at the Alex in Nov 2005. one of the signatures is by "Bart Beddows" or possibly
"Beddons" he signs as follows Bart Beddows. 4 Trp 3 Com. Sword Beach
Mervill Battery. Maybe someone or the CVA knows his contact details or maybe the man himself, I hope this is of some help. This Forum is just great. Good Luck.

Hi Guys, Bert Beddows is alive and well in Southport, Merseyside. He actually joined me for Mick Smiths (29 Cdo RA, KIA Afghanistan) funeral in Liverpool a couple of months back, lovely man, still hard as nails.

Please email me direct and I will pass on his address.
Kind regards
Geoff

Hello DANNY

Since the age of 13 years old, ( now 41 ) I attend ceremonies, of course in France and when I can Belgium, Holland.
I come from a small village near DIEPPE, and I played inside the bunker and area where 4 cdo attacked the 19 08 1942.
Everyyear, i'm in OUISTREHAM, sword beach, pegasus bridge, Amfreville, merville etc ... All the area where commandos fight in 1944.
When i was 13 years old, a 4 cdo veteran explain to me his landing on Sword Beach, and since this time. I'm in touch with many veterans and families. I lay flowers about commandos grave, and sometime photos.
Well, i close now.
On 4 troop, i'm in touch too with ROBBINS's daughter. ( he has been KIA 20 08 1944 near DOZULE ). Last year, I introduce her to Jim CLINTON, her father died in Jimmy arms.

Good morning

New forum member here

I have recently ben investigating, with my father, an uncle of mine who was killed in the D Day landings.

We are visiting the Merville area on Remebrance weekend and will be visiting the memorial in Bayeux where his name is, unfortuantely no grave.

In this thread there is a photo of No 3 Commando in Limehouse prior to the landings, my uncle is in that photograph, at the very back on the right.

His details were Reginald Ashley Mills Guardsman 2665339

We have investigated another photograph, when he enlisted, and have found details of a couple of his fellow guardsman but if anybody knows anything else etc, we would be pleased to talk, email etc with you

Thanks in Advance
