It is with much sadness that John Monks advises us of the recent death on the 26th March 2018 of Staff Sergeant Colin Bellhouse, a veteran of 59 Commando Squadron RE.John adds the following:

Staff Sergeant Colin Bellhouse, age 69. A great soldier who served many years with 59 Commando Squadron Royal Engineers who will be sadly missed by his wife Sheila, his sons Nigel and Lee, and all of his other family and friends.


Rest in peace Colin.

God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.

Son of Gunner Bill Harvey No4 Commando who was killed in action on 1 November 1944 when liberating Flushing. "Their deeds shall live from age to age. They've writ their name on History's page. Upheld their glorious heritage. The Fighting Fourth Commando."
