Hi Guys, I am starting to research my family tree and I know Uncle Albert was a RM during D Day. I am interested in any information anybody may have.

I believe he may have moved to the far east not long after the landings ?

Hi Brett

I personally have no information about your Uncle. I would advise you to read our Website and Research advice page Part 2 regarding how to apply for a copy of his Service Record, but would also suggest you contacting all members of your extended family to see if anyone else can provide you with more detail first on whether he served in a Royal Marines unit or a Royal Marine Commando unit. Unlike today in WW2 not all Royal Marines were Commandos.

In the meantime I hope someone else comes up with detail that may help you.
