    Subject: LSgt Robert William Seys No 1 Commando

I am looking for the cause of death of the above named No 1 Commando who died on the 27th August 1942 and was buried at Lyne (Holy Trinity) Churchyard in Surrey. Please reply on this message with any information and the source/reference etc. His parents came from Chertsey.

He died the day before Ivor Jones of No 1 Commando also died in the UK of unknown circumstances (see separate forum message).
Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.

When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.

I have updated his record with the information to date. If anyone has access to the No 1 Commando War Diary could they check and see if there are any additional details re the accident.
