Hi Joanne,
Welcome to the CVA Website and Forum.
Thank you very much for the photos of your grandfather and his treasured medals & cap badge.
In case you haven't already seen it, I have attached the commemorative certificate of the CWGC (Commonwealth War Graves Commission) record of your grandfather.
Are you also aware that your family can apply to the MoD for your grandfather's Service Record - a full scan of the original, handwritten record of his service from enlistment to his sad demise.
If you are interested let me know and I can forward you the appropriate forms.
Nick

Hi Nick and Pete
Thank you so much for your prompt replies.
Pete, my full name is Joanne Burnett and my mother is Josephine Donaldson.
Nick, we were not aware that we could access my grandfather's service record and would very much appreciate it if you could send me the forms.
Thank you both once again.

Hi Joanne,
Here are the links to the two forms you will need to apply to the MoD for your grandfather's service records. They are reasonably straight forward, but any problems please let me know - email /pm.
You will need a copy of your grandfather's death certificate, the consent of his next of kin (one of the forms shows how to establish this) and the £30 fee. If your grandmother is still with us and signs the consent then the fee is waived.

Pete & I are here to help, so any questions or problems let one of us know...
