I am looking for information on this Gunner who is on the Armed Forces Memorial - 24148518 Gunner Kevin John Smith RA and whose date of death aged 18 was the 23rd January 1972.

I am trying to establish if this man is identical to a 'Smudger' Smith, 79 Bty., RA who died in Malta killed in a fall from a wall.

Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.

Hi Pete,
I've been informed by a 29 Cdo veteran that 'Smudger' Smith was Gnr Kevin Smith.
He told me
Instead of waiting for the transport to take the rest of the detachment up to the main magazine, "smudger "decided to climb up, he nearly made it when he unfortunately slipped and fell about 100 feet.
