The Guardian ran a great article today, 25 Nov 2017, about Larry Stephens a Captain in No.5 Commando and, post-war, a very talented and successful radio & tv scriptwriter...
It would seem that talent runs in the family as the article was written by Larry's cousin, fellow Associate Member, Julie Warren.
Julie, a member of the CVA Research Group, has carried out in-depth research for the CVA but is far too modest to tell us of her achievements, so it falls to me to sing her praises.

Some of the issues of today's Guardian carry a link to the CVA...
Thanks and well done Julie.

Again it falls to me, as one of Julie's friends and staunchest supporters, to remind everyone that Julie has written a biography on Larry Stephens, commando and comedy scriptwriter.

Julie carried out meticulous and in depth research on the Commandos whilst writing about Larry which resulted in almost 50% of the biography covering Larry's time as an officer in the Commandos and particularly in No.5 Commando which was a subordinate of 3 Commando Brigade in the Far East.
Julie's worked on Larry's diaries and private letters as well as No.5 Cdo's War Diaries and other official documents which has resulted in a very detailed history of No.5 Cdo's time out in SEAF.
I for one am very excited at the prospect of reading this book (instead of the few excerpts that I've been honoured to be privy to) and can't wait for it's release...

Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of Julie's book should pre-order using this link:

Thanks Donno!

The book needs to get to its funding target through pre-sales before it goes into production. It's at 2/3 now so nearly there!
