The owner of the land where the Memorial to the Polish who finally took the hill at Monte Cassino with heavy losses is requesting the Municipality of Cassino to downgrade the Albanetta road from public highway to private road.

This road is used to reach the three monuments of the 2nd Polish Corps, the monument of the 3rd Carpathian Division, the monument of the 5th Division "Kresowa" and the monument of 4th Armored Regiment "Skorpion". If the request was accepted, free access to the Monuments would be compromised.

Whilst the Italian Government in the past has been supportive, lets make sure that this request is stopped in its tracks. In addition to the heavy Polish losses, there were some 55,000 allied casualties at Cassino.

If you feel strongly enough about this please sign the petition at Change.org
