On our Middle East Commando ROH is 6088017 Private N. Thomas (listed as a POW). This soldier is not listed on the CWGC database as a Commando. However the CWGC record (Concentration Report) does shows him as a POW with the no. 95329.

What I am looking for is a good clear photo of the official POW record if it shows Commando service, or any other official document that shows Commando Service. This is what the CWGC will require before they add Commando service to their record.

Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.

Pete,

6088017 THOMAS Norman 2nd Battalion Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey).

He appears on four War Office casualty lists, none of which list any Commando unit.
He is first listed as missing on Crete, 2/6/1941. He is the only soldier from 2nd Queens listed as missing on that day.

2nd Queens were sent to Crete on the Glenroy but were unable to effect a landing due to enemy air action.

Thanks Guy, unfortunately he is not the only one whose Commando service is not shown, or whose cause of death is not known.

I have now completed the Middle East Commando ROH. As with the others click on any name for our new record.
