I am looking for anybody who fought with my late Father RSM Andrew Fallan of 44th Royal Marine Commando. Anything you could tell me about him would be greatly appreciated. He fought in the Burma campaign.

Hi

I can find no reference to a Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) Andrew Fallan, however I have found reference in Burma to a Company Sergeant Major (CSM) Andrew Fallan in 1946.

The London Gazettes record the fact that PO/X 100915 CSM Andrew Fallan received a Mention in Despatches for "gallant and distinguished services in Burma". There are 2 entries the latter correcting an error.

I do not have any other information. Have you got a copy of his service record ? How to do so can be found on our advice leaflet:

Website Content and Research Advice.

Do you have a photo of him from his time in 44RM Commando ?
