Hello,

I am trying to find out a bit more about my grandpa. I have tried before but hit a bit of a brick wall, however, I have found some more information which might shed some light. I have tried looking in the internet for more information but have found it difficult to find.

The new information I found was writings in his prayer book.

I have not managed to find any more information out from the internet so am turning to you for help. I would sincerely appreciate any help give!

My grandpa also told me that he and the group of people he was with were hit with shrapnel whist in a boat in Italy, however I was unable to find anything else on this.

Hi Guy,
Welcome to the Commando Veterans Association Website and Forums.
This is just a quick note, as I have to be somewhere, so hopefully I'll get back to you with more...

Just looking at what you've described as his ships, divisions or ship's COs -

RMRD - Royal Marine Reserve Depot

HBL - Home Base Ledger

HBL - RHTG - I believe should be HBL RMTG - Royal Marine Training Group.

Nick
