72 years ago this month two Commandos were posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross.

Lieutenant Knowland VC http://www.commandoveterans.org/KnowlandVC

and

Lance Corporal Harden VC http://www.commandoveterans.org/HardenVC

Remembering them and all who died for our freedom.

My father Bob Mewett 4 Troop No 1 Commando fought alongside Lt George Knowland VC at Hill 170 Kangaw Burma.....my father and all of his comrades I have manged to meet and talk to had the utmost respect for 'Knobby' Knowland.....a supreme example of Commando leadership.

Remembered with honour and also 'Doc' Harden's supreme sacrifice was heroic beyond the call of duty.

RIP Lt George Knowland VC
RIP Eric Harden VC

Do not speak.....unless it improves on Silence.
