Hello from the Netherlands, for my site I am looking for information/and documentation about soldiers killed in the Netherlands in the period 1940-1945.

If anyone can help out with RM on or not yet on the list, please get in touch with me, thanks in advance.

Hi,

My long lost Uncle was killed at Arnhem and has no known grave,

There is a Dutch Army Unit that collects all remains as they are found and even use DNA to make a match:

Dutch Institute for War Documentation
Herengracht 380
1016 CJ Amsterdam
Tel: (020) 523 38 00
Fax: (020) 523 38 88
Email: through the contact form on the website
Internet: www.niod.nl.

Might be some use to you.

Regards

One of 46RM Commando is buried in the Netherlands. Alexander Francis McDonald Harland is laid to rest in Venray War Cemetery - grave VI.D.13. He died on the 20/02/1945. Talking to some of our 46 Veterans they believe he died from an accidental gun discharge.
