It is with much sadness that we advise you of the recent death on the 20th October 2016 of Robert Kerr Montgomery MC, B.Sc., RE, Legion d'Honneur, who whilst a Captain in the Royal Engineers, was attached to the Special Service Brigade for Operation Chariot, the raid on the naval dockyard at St Nazaire. He, along with fellow Royal Engineer Captain Bill Pritchard, had been instrumental in the initial planning and training of the demolition teams. He was awarded the Military Cross for his courage during the raid.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this time.

Rest in peace Bob.
