Just had a letter forwarded to me regarding Cpl William Wade. His son and grandson are trying to find out which RM Cdo he served in.
He served in the RM from February '41 to December '45 - and as a commando from August '43 to Oct '45 (from his Commando Service Certificate).
Cpl Wade's family believe he took part in D-Day Landings (Sword), Walcheren & The Rhine Crossing...

My first thoughts are either 41 RM Cdo or 45 RM Cdo - but those in the know will see there are already discrepancies...

As usual I will be advising the family to apply for Cpl Wade's Service Records but am looking for any other information which I can pass on...

Nick
