We regret to make you read this message received from Jean-Michel Ribe and we announcing the death of André Nicolopoulos. He was part of the 4 Commandos still present to testify who had not made the landing of 6 June but had served under kieffer during the 2ND WORLD WAR.
" André Nicolopoulos (Badge Commando Kieffer N° 241) left us in its 96th year, on Tuesday, 6 September 2016. André Nicolopoulos had recently received badges of knight of the national order of the legion of honor On 8 May 2016, during the ceremony of taking of weapons to bastia for the 71th anniversary of victory.
He liked to quote the academician Edmond about:
We are the heirs of all those who are dead,
The partners of all those who live,
Providence of all those who will be born.
Today we are his heirs, as we are the heirs of all those who have fought for France, with an indomitable spirit, a steadfast courage and complete selflessness."
To date, they are no more than 9 to testify, including 6 of 177 of the day j. All our condolences and thoughts towards his family and his friends.
Thanks to Musée des fusiliers marins et commandos's for information.
Remembered with honour.
