It is with sadness that we advise you of the recent death of Captain David Seath, aged 31, who was a Fire Support Team Commander with 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery. Captain Seath collapsed and died during last weekend's London Marathon.

Captain Seath collapsed just three miles short of the finish line from a suspected cardiac arrest on Sunday. He was taken to St Thomas' Hospital but he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards. His mother Libby said on Monday that her son had "lived life on the edge and to the full", while senior army colleagues described Mr Seath as an "outstanding officer".

More can be read here Capt David Seath

Our thoughts are with all his family and friends at this time.

Rest in peace David.

Captain Seath originally wanted to raise £250 for Help for Heroes on his Capt Seath's Just Giving page (click on the link). To date this page shows donations of almost £70,000.

A second fundraising page set up by his friends has raised a further £94, 000 to date for Help for Heroes His friends Just Giving Page (click on the link)
