Does anyone know whether the original sketches made by L.Cpl Mullen at Dieppe still exist, and if so where they are? It has been suggested to me that they are with the Mills-Roberts family. Are they still subject to copyright? Is it possible to get good quality copies or prints of these sketches?

Many thanks for any help received.

Open the link above, scroll down to sketches, tap on individual sketch to view.

Hi,

Yes not only the sketches but paintings as well.

He even made a painting on an old duffel bag as he had no canvas.

Search this webite and you should find the articles on Brian Mullen.

Attached three from my collection

Hi Rick,

Many thanks for this information. Do I understand that you have the original sketches (or at least the two that you posted?) If not do you know where they are, and perhaps have a contact in Mullen's family?

Many thanks

Hi Noel,

Only copies, one of the museum's got a bit stroppy when they thought I was after their originals.

A couple of leads for you.

Bill Leech,

National Army Museum.

I do have a contact in the family BUT under arrangements I cannot disclose the email address.

One day when and if I catch up on my many projects I will have to see about an album on the CV site.

Finally here is a Mullens that is not often seen.

Regards

Thank you for these pictures, Rick. I have a copy of the one where the pilot is being/about to be pulled from the water - dad (I believe) was on that craft.

If you're in touch with Brian's family - please pass on our regards.

If I have praised my comrades too highly I make no apology, for they were beyond all praise.
