From David Tait, St Nazaire Society:

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has advised the Society that it is their intention to renovate the head stones at Escoublac. Our Chairman, Nick Beattie, has requested committee member, Peter Lush, to check on the accuracy of the current inscriptions so that any errors may be corrected. Should you have a family member buried at Escoublac, please would you check their entry on the attached schedule to see that the inscription on the grave stone is correct.

There are some omissions already known and these can be seen at the end of the attached list. Any further errors should made known to the St Nazaire Society or posted here and I will advise them.

God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
