Hi,
While checking another subject I noted that entries for the Belgian troop started to mention troop numbers 9 and 10.
There were a few entries showing 4,9 and 10 as Belgian troops,at present I cannot pinpoint when they were formed ,other than late 44 or early 45.
When 10 IA Cdo started disbanding - late April 1945 it showed the following numbers:
Belgian advance party Officers 1 and 36 ORs
Belgian HQ TP Officers 1 and 8 ORs
Vehicle party 4 tp 6 ORs
Vehicle party 9 tp 6 ORs
Vehicle party 10 tp
Belgian main party HQ Officers 4 and 3 ORs
Belgian No 4 tp Officers 3 and 77 ORs
Belgian No 9 tp Officers 3 and 74 ORs
Belgian No 10 tp Officers 4 and 72 ORs
TOTAL 16 288
These numbers must make it one of the larger country contributor
I wonder why 10 IA Cdo troop number 9 and 10 are generally not mentioned, perhaps the because of timing, the war in Europe all but over.
