A few of the above are mentioned in an edition of London Gazettes (see link at bottom) mentioning some who who had seen action with the Special Air Service Brigade (may have been renamed by this time to 1st SAS Regt) and with some additional details not shown here including another who was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (name on NR but not the medal):

Some details added here for the record having found them rather for the NR.

2656281 Sgt (Acting WO2) Charles George Gibson Riley, Coldstream Guards, awarded the DCM

Copper above is shown in LG as Cooper - 2698113 L/Sgt John Murdoch Cooper Scots Guards awarded DCM

Kershaw MM rank shown as Sergeant at this time.

Robert Bennett MM rank shown as L/Sgt at this time with a s/n 2617533

2655648 SQMS John Edward Almonds MM and bar commissioned 2/Lt 10th Sept 44 (s/n changed 333683). promoted Lt with Gloster Regt 1946, then Captain 12th March 1951. Ends his service 31/12/1960 with honorary rank of Major.
nb. alongside a few of the gazettes entries for Almonds in relation to the Glosters is H. Pike. Herbert 'Spike' Pike served in No 4 Commando and then the Glosters including the action in Korea at Imjin Captain Herbert Pike

Ian Collins was commissioned 2/Lt 30th June 1940, awarded the Croix de Guerre 1940 with palm and in 1946 the OBE. He became Lt Col.

There is one in the LG entry who should be investigated to see if he was in No 8 if poss as he is not shown on our NR but is alongside the other Guards who were:

2695425 Gdsm Roy Duncalfe, Scots Guards, awarded the MM An interesting family entry on him can be found here: http://boards.ancestry.co.uk/thread.aspx?mv=flat&m=4379&p=topics.Military.wwii.general

Here is the original LG entry I mentioned at the beginning:

Hi Nick and Pete,
a few more names to be added are;
Gdsm. Michael D'arcy Irish Guards.
Lt. George PJR Jellicoe 124546 Coldstream Guards DSO MC MID Legion d'Honeur Croix de Guerre MC (Greek)
Sgt. J Storey 3597146 Scots Guards.

Possibly L/Sgt. Douglas Eccles 2735399 Welsh Guards executed by the Germans in 1944.

Pete,
Alastair Timpsons book 'In Rommel's Back Yard' mentions both Duncalfe and McNabola and they both appear in 'Special Forces in the Desert War' but as yet I have found no mention of Layforce connections. Duncalfe ended up in the same POW camp in Germany as my dad.
