The month of March is significant in Commando history and whilst we remember those who died in action, or of wounds, or whilst on active service in WW2, let us not forget those who have died since WW2. To name but a few:

March 1947

Also from 3 Cdo Bde and killed with the above on the 21st March were Major Jason Ward, Capt. Phillip Guy, CSgt John Cecil, WO2 Mark Stratford; Mne. Sholto Hedenskog, and Op. Mech. (Comms) Second Class Ian Seymour RN (148 Cdo Bty, RA)

Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.
God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.

Every year we remember them. Hope to be up this week at memorial will remember them. Bill

Son of Gunner Bill Harvey No4 Commando who was killed in action on 1 November 1944 when liberating Flushing. "Their deeds shall live from age to age. They've writ their name on History's page. Upheld their glorious heritage. The Fighting Fourth Commando."
