I recently bought a copy of Tag Barnes' Commando Diary and inside the book were a couple of newspaper clippings. Unfortunately I don't know which newspaper(s) they come from.

Julie,
I'm 'well jel' - as I believe they say in your part of the country...

I'm guessing that both articles are from local papers in Sheffield.
Tag Barnes was born in Sheffield; the first article mentions him working in Wostenholms - a cutlery manufacturer in Sheffied; both articles say that Tag 'will be signing copies of his book in Waterstones, Orchard Square...'
The Sheffield branch of Waterstones is in Orchard Square.

Both articles were written by journalists working for The Sheffield Telegraph and its sister paper, The Star.

Hi Julie

As mentioned in the articles Tag was an expert fisherman and designed Carp fishing rods and wrote books on the subject. I have a friend who does a lot of carp fishing and these items apparently are still sort after today,

What a great legacy!!
