Hello friends.
I have almost impossible question to answer, but can someone identify this genteman standing nearby the US rangers?
He was probably a member of No.4 Commando.
Thanks!
Martin

Hi Martin
I am not sure whether the photo you posted was taken from our gallery if so you will have seen the text attributed there. If not, and for the benefit of others, here is a link to that photo in our gallery with some of the names, although not the man you were looking for. I have always thought he looks a little like Len Ruskin, but I have never been great at identification:

It's not TSM Chatterway (different spellings) is it?

Are we looking at the guy in profile or the guy looking at the camera?

I took it that it was the fella sideways on. Len Coulson sprang to mind but I doubt he'd be with them. (In that group)
I read a book recently that went in to this photo in detail ... wish I could remember which one it was - I have a few. :)

Might have been the Will Fowler book but he just mentions Cpl Bill Brady and Sgt Kenneth Stempson as well as the 2 main soldiers.
I'll keep looking - be sure to let us know if you find out! Has anybody asked why you want to know ... if not, I am.

I just checked all the troop pictures of No.4 Commando here on web.. it was a hard work. But I didn'd identified him..yet. Maybe he's from other unt? No.3? No.10? HQ?
Gosh it's a so much well known picture. Someone must know him.
I am looking for this commando's name from personal reason.

Yes, I've looked at all of No.4 ... not that I haven't looked at them all many times. :)
No.3 it is then .... fingers are crossed that you/we find him. If I find any 'possibles' I'll pm you with their names.

Thank you very much Eileen,

BTW - Was the No.3 Cdo mixed with No.4 after the raid back in Newhaven?

There is a photo on here saying it's either No.3 or No.4 so I think they were but I'm sure somebody will be around to answer your question shortly.
