Hi All
I have been asked by Richard Pelling of the Australian Commando Association to see if any one can help with this request to find out anything about a chap called Jack Lewis Vaughan.
Hi Andy, hope your well.
Favour required please.. We would be grateful if you Can you find out if this chap below was British WW2 Commando?.
I feel he was a New Zealander but might have joined up in UK. As you can see he was a Para and then joined a ?Special Unit? that was called Chindits, who were a commando group formed up and operating in Burma, Japs killed quite a number of them. He then, the family believe, became one of our Z special Commandos. If you can find any military info on his records we might have a starting point to work from..
Regards
Dick
