Hi All
I am off to Crete next month and plan to visit Souda Bay War Cemetery and the Maritime Museum. Hopefully this is the first journey of many to try to find out a bit more about Dad and his time during WW2.
If anyone would like any photos while I am there, I would be more than happy to help.
Kind regards
Sarah

Hi Sarah
Would you be able to photo the headstones and graves of the following Commandos. Please ensure your camera is set to a good resolution so the writing is clear. I will then add them to our War Graves albums. Many thanks indeed :
Corporal, FREDERICK BEASLEY, , 3532735, Manchester Regiment. and No. 7, Commando 1 June 1941 - 2 June 1941. Age 22. Son of Frederick and Matilda Beasley, of Salford, Lancashire. Grave Ref. 16. B. 19.
Corporal, GEORGE AUGUSTINE MICHAEL SHERIDAN, , 5502361, Hampshire Regiment. and No. 7, Commando 25 May 1941 - 30 May 1941. Age 20. Son of Patrick and Elizabeth Sheridan, of Fratton, Portsmouth. Grave Ref. 4. A. 16.
Trooper, CHARLES HENRY STOTT, , 322688, North Somerset Yeomanry. and No 52, Commando 16 July 1941. Age 25. Son of Charles and Ada Lilian Stott. Grave Ref. 8. C. 3.
Trooper, WILLIAM ARTHUR WILLCOCKS, , 556474, Royal Armoured Corps. and No. 52, Commando 29 May 1941. Age 22. Son of William E. Willcocks and Ellen Willcocks, of Chester. Grave Ref. 13. C. 8.
I am not aware of any RM Commandos buried there. I believe the Royal Marines who are buried there were mainly from MNBDO (1).
Regards
Pete
