Saw this advertised on TV and it's been mentioned on WW2Talk.

Take a look at the video clip of it ... anybody we know? )

Sorry if this has already been mentioned - I looked but didn't see anything.

If I have praised my comrades too highly I make no apology, for they were beyond all praise.

There certainly are some guys that we know - the clips shows two Chelsea Pensioners - Fred Walker & Roy Cadman.

Seen in this photo talking to Dan Snow presumably during the making of the documentary.

Yes, that's how I knew it was them - I remembered 'our' photo. :)

I'm really looking forward to it - the trailer was on again tonight.

Also about D-Day, on UK's C4: D-Day as it happens

Viewers can track the progress of seven real people who participated in the 1944 invasion, moment by moment in real time, encountering the twists and turns of the fighting at the same time as the D-Day seven did, and learning their fate as the action unfolds in parallel with the present.

One of the Real people is Ronald Cyril 'Dixie' Dean

3 Troop, 3 Commando,
1st Special Service Brigade

We can see Ronald on our own site : http://gallery.commandoveterans.org/cdoGallery/v/units/3/3+cdo+fallen/dixie+dean.jpg.html
Sadly Ronald did not survive D-Day. Ronald was just a few months older than my granddad. Makes me wonder why life is sometimes so cruel.
RIP Ronald.

My granddad was on LST320 on D-Day according to his records, possibly having been wounded months earlier, he was used for crew.
