Cpl R G Morris served in RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corps) and was a member of the Z Special Unit - otherwise known as 'Z Force'.

Below is a photo of the the Z Special Unit team that carried out Operation Jaywick.

Group portrait after the completion of Operation Jaywick, "Z" Special Unit, Australian Services Reconnaissance Department, showing the personnel who carried out the operation.
Identified in the front row from left to right - Lieutenant Hubert Edward Carse, RAN; Lieutenant Donald Montague Noel, RAN; 66175 Major I Lyon, MBE The Gordon Highlanders, The Officer Commanding; Major H A Campbell (did not accompany the expedition); NX19158 Lieutenant Robert Charles Page DSO; Centre row:- QX19907 Corporal Andrew Anthony Crilly, MM; Leading Seaman Kevin Patrick Cain, RAN; Leading Stoker James Patrick McDowell, RAN; Leading Telegraphist Horace Stewart Young, RAN; S/6543 Able Seaman Walter Gordon Falls, DSM, RAN; Corporal R G Morris, RAMC; Back row:- Able Seaman (AB) Mostyn Berryman, RAN; B3666 AB Frederick Walter Lota Marsh; F3383 AB Arthur Walter Jones, DSM; B3312 AB Andrew William George Huston.
Operation Jaywick was conducted from 1st Sept 43 to 19th Oct 43 and involved a clandestine attack by a group of six allied operatives against Japanese shipping at Singapore.

This photo was taken on 11 November 43 and it is described as a portrait of pride rather than jubilation with only Jock Campbell showing a glimpse of a smile.
Both Cpls Crilly & Morris were recommended and approved for a Military Medal although the actual awards were suspended pending further information. Both Cpls were to receive the MM eventually, with Morris going on to receive the BEM.
