Can any one help ,what was the Commando Group HQ, what was its function, and there was it located.

This is from a book so I cannot vouch for its accuracy. Robin Neillands author of By Sea and Land - The Story of the RM Commandos mentions Commando Group when discussing some RM Battalions being disbanded and the Marines sent for Commando training to form the additional RM Commando units circa July - October 1943. Major General Robert Sturges, Royal Marines, was GOC Special Service (Commando) Group from 1943 - 1945. Special Service ( Commando) Group was in overall command of the four Special Service Brigades.
Before the additional RM Commando Units were formed, I believe there used to be a Special Service Brigade HQ which was replaced by Headquarters Special Services Group under Major General Robert Sturges as described above
Major General Sturges certainly visited the Special Service Brigades during their advance into North West Europe as can be seen here :
