goodday,

I womder if anyone would have information on F.L. Jones who was an army commando in ww2. Which unit etc.

I have his membership card no 299 of the old comrades association of the army commandos dated 8.7.1943.

I think you will have to do a bit more research to confirm this ...........but I have a Sgt Francis L Jones serving in No 6 Cdo.

Perhaps you can corroborate his number in the book somehow to confirm this is the same person.

Mike Beckett also pointed me in this direction. Fair bet it could be him.

There must have been a lot of Commandos with the name 'Jones' but I hope this does tie up. It was a bit of a fluke I had this information (thanks to correspondence I have had with Ron Youngman) - I hope it turns out to be the right man. I believe the Commando Association button hole badge will be stamped with the Member's Association number, as given (and illustrated) in the Commando Old Comrades Association Membership card/book.
