Hello Guy
I have a 1st edition of that book which does not have an index. I have seen several later copies and I cant remember indexes in any of them.
I know we have several book collectors among us so perhaps they can help.
regards

I have a paperback 2002 Edition which I believe was the last printed. In there it has a Publishing History. It states that in 1991 Greenhill Books reprinted an edition which was
"exactly as the original edition."
It adds for the 2002 Edition
"It is now reproduced with the Roll of Honour and Honour and Awards lists compiled by David Buxton, and Notes to the New Edition by David List ".
So no index, but at the rear of the 2002 edition there are the Rolls as described above, and at the beginning The Notes as described above.

i have a first edition by Dunford Slater and their is no index. He was my God Father and much of the book was written at our house. In fact the very last picture in the book shows me pouring a whiskey for him and my father!
