Tpr RE Griffiths 3 cdo

Hi,
Have just received a copy of 3 commando RoH and awards.

The above named soldier is shown in the roll of honour as

6103950 Tpr Ronald Eric Griffiths - Queens Regt Date of death 14-7-1943 Sicily

The CWGC entry is the same but no mention of him being a commando.

Has this checked or is this error known.

Regretfully, there are many cases where the CWGC Records do not reflect that an individual was a commando.

Following my friends Bob & Janet Bishop's lead, I have campaigned reasonably successfully in getting the CWGC to amend various records in similar circumstances.
The CWGC advise that, ideally, they need three seperate pieces of contempoary evidence before they'll consider changing their records but, in exceptional cases, they have accepted less...
It is a long drawn out process as once they receive the evidence their team will then look at starting an investigation - at the moment I have been waiting for four cases to be resolved but I'm informed by the CWGC Enquiries Office that they are extremely busy at the moment.

I am prepared to take up and pursue the case of Tpr R E Griffiths, No3 Cdo.
