How long roughly to receive a relative's service records ? Weeks, months ?

It could take several months..........I got my fathers in 3 months but I think its taking a little longer now........maybe six.

I had to wait almost a year but it was worth the wait! They send you an estimate of how long they think it will take when you apply for the records.

Yes I thought it would be longer..........I applied nearly 10yrs ago.
But I can say it is really worth the wait....... so apply now.

We applied and received the records from Royal Marines and Army within 3 weeks or so. A pleasant surprise !

It took about 10 days to get my fathers records. How ever they were very thin and gave no details about his service history or the medals he was awarded. It seems much of this is still classified
