A very interesting document, courtesy of Mike Beckett, which shows the formation of No5 Cdo.

Appendix 'A' shows 'Officers selected for Commando Headquarters and as Troop Leaders of No5 Commando'.

Appendix 'B' shows 'Volunteers for selection as Troop Subalterns, No5 Commando'.
It is interesting to note that a portion of the list has been annotated by hand so it easy to identify who the successful and unsuccessful canditates were...
Looking down the list it is also possible to identify officers who were selected as commandos and who became Troop Leaders and higher.

Appendix 'C' shows the numbers of volunteers of Other Ranks and from which Regiments & Corps they came from.

A very interesting and important document indeed.

Nick
