Colonel Philip Bennett - No 4 Commando

Dear Geoff,

I'm emailing you to let the CVA know that one of its older members has recently died.

Col Philip Bennett, my father in law, died peacefully at Derriford Hospital on Monday 13th Feb. I know that he served with 4 Commando under Lord Lovat and was part of the force that attacked Sword Beach on D-Day. His regiment was the Devonshires, and he later served in Malaya, the Congo, and Indonesia.

His funeral takes place at 1030 on Monday 27th Feb at St. Andrew's Church, Whitchurch, Tavistock.

If anyone from CVA would like to attend, please do so - they can contact me - details below. I'd be grateful if anyone from CVA can provide any info on his career with 4 Cdo.
