I have just posted a photo of the headstone at the grave of Private Hill which was sent to me. Should anyone know of the circumstances in which he met his death, or have any other information, about him, please respond here.

In Memory of Private 6212505 DAVID HENRY HILL
Middlesex Regiment and No. 12, Commando
who died age 25 on 04 December 1942
Remembered with honour ILLOGAN (ST. ILLOGAN) CHURCHYARD


Pete Rogers, son of LSgt Joe Rogers MM & nephew of TSM Ken McAllister. Both No2 Commando.
God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
