Landladies and the Commandos

Hi everyone

I was just wondeing if anybody else has any photos of Commandos with their landladies.

According to most vets the LL's were well thought of and very welcoming.........some commandos even met their future wives there.

Lanladies are a forgotten part of the history of the early Commandos.

Below is a photo of dad .......Bob Mewett and his landlady Mrs Lake and an unknown comrade from 12 cdo.

Hi John - no pictures, unfortunately, just this:

Bob often talked about his landlady in Ayr - Mabel Thursby - and her little daughter. They lived at 26 St. Phillans Ave., Ayr. He would have loved to connect with them again.

Good idea for a topic, hope lots of photos come up.
