Newspaper articles about a Memorial at St Paul's Cathedral dedicated to those killed in Malaya, Borneo, Singapore and Brunei from World War II until the 1960s. Major General Corran Purdon MC has a mention in one of the reports. In WW2 he was attached to No.12 Commando and taken POW at St Nazaire. He commanded the Ulster Rifles in Borneo

I have just added two albums regarding the Hostage Rescue operation undertaken by men from 42 Commando RM on the 12th December 1962. All the hostages were released with out injury, but sadly 5 Commandos from Lima Company were killed in this operation. The first of the albums is the funeral of Marine Gerald 'Scouse' Kierans, 42 Commando RM, the 2nd is of the unveiling of a plaque at Limbang in August 1963 for those killed, and finally the Post WW2 Commando ROH:
