hi, i put this on the forum , in the other one so hop this will help you guys, better scans, the photo of him , i think , well it say dad is the tallest one,
ware it was ?? and the othr guys, if you can , robert ollerenshaw was from ilkeley west yorkshire , , num 4347481 ..thank you andy

this is some other items of his, rail and a tickit from france, could this mean that he was 100%, on d day landings , ??

Although I don't know the name, this distinctive signature is know to me - I have seen it on a number of No5 Cdo service records and on Commando Service Certificates issued from Holding Operational Commando (HOC) circa 1945.
The rank of this officer was Captain and, in this instance, he signed on behalf of the Commanding Officer of HOC who, at that time, was a Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) in the Royal Marines.

HI, some medals and pay book. to this chap.,i would love to know all about him,,and his service,in ww2,, if you could help, i would be gratefull . i will suply all the info i can,from his service book. if it will help. I do hope that some one will remember him, or at some point was with him.. i would love to find some of his family ,,all i know that he was from west yorkshire, huddersfield ?. will post a photo of ,the items .take a look please and ask .will do my best to repl

Hi, Welcome to the CVA.
I'm afraid I can't tell you much about Pte Ollerenshaw that you don't know already other than, judging by the signature on his Commando Service Certificate, he ended his Commando Service in November 1945 at the HOC (Holding Operational Commando) at Wrexham.

Although the photo of the documents are not particularly clear, the signature is quite distinctive and is known to me and I know that the officer concerned (A Captain) was at HOC at the time.

If you can provide scans of any documents and photos, we may be able to uncover further info.

Hi Janet,
Sorry, I'm not talking about the Laycock signature that appears on all Cdo Certs but the signature bottom right.

Below is a clearer version of the signature taken from another Cert - again in Nov 1945.

I believe that this guy was a No5 officer but it's possible he may have been the adjutant at HOC in 1945.

Still working on it.
