Hi I was wondering what the rules were as to the shape of the combined ops badges. The original 1942 had a tombstone shape but also they are seen in round shape. I have read somewhere that both versions were allowed but that after March 1944 only the round ones were allowed.

Were the round ones just trimmed down from tombstones or produced as such?

I believe that in March 1945 the combined ops badge was replaced by the black red dagger commando brigades formation sign.
