Hello :D
Looking for info on Lieutenant Richard Percy Livingstone, formerly of the Royal Ulster Rifles and No.12 Commando, served with No.6 Commando from 11th March 1942.
It is noted that Lt. R.P. Livingstone was transferred to No.101 Troop just before its absorption into No.2 SBS at Ardrossan (Scotland) on 11th March 1942.
In October 1942, Operation: Majestic Enterprise was undertaken when Lt. R.P. Livingstone (together with Capt. Godfrey Basil Courtney and Lt. James Panton Foot) would escort Gen. Mark Clarke ashore in North Africa on the General?s secret mission to Vichy French controlled North Africa in an attempt to procure the surrender of French Forces there before the launch of Operation Torch.
I have not found him at CWG
Any relatives with info :?: or anyone come across Richard Percy Livingstone during their research :?:
I am researching the role played by "Swordfish" 101 Troop and their eventual formation into No 2 "SBS" Special Boat Section, now known as Special Boat Service 8)
Thanks :-)
Colin

Colin - The names you are looking for would be:
Capt., Temporary Major, Richard Percy Livingstone, M.B.E. 149081 Royal Ulster Rifles
Temp. Capt. Godfrey Basil Courtney M.B.E. 58298 Q.O.R.W.K. Regt.
Lieut. James Panton Foot, M.B.E. 189391 The Dorsetshire Regt.
Hope this helps.

My father LT F N Best served under a Major R P Livingstone in C Group SBS in Burma between Dec 44 and May 45. I have posted some information on the miscellaneous forum. Its a recent log. I've posted operation accounts, photos and a signed 10 rupee note signed by most of C Group.
I'm trying to find out more about my father's time in Burma so if you have any information would be more than grateful.
Bill

Hi, Colin,
My grandfather, Cpl E. L . Palmer, was killed whilst serving under Major Livingstone and Lt Best in C Group 2 SBS in February 1945.
Like Bill, I would be extremely pleased if your research can add anything to my knowledge of his service.
Kindest regards
Stuart

Dragging this one up "from the vaults", I note that the book 'Stealthily by Night' lists all three as having spent time with Combined Operations Pilotage Parties.
I'm still going through the detail of that book, so hopefully it will give more details which I'll try to remember to post here.
Alternatively you can keep an eye on the website I'm building at the moment - coppsurvey.uk/a-to-z-list
