Posted on behalf of Tanya Harrington:

Dear Mr Murray,

I don't know whether I am writing to the correct person, but I wanted to inform you of the death of my father Colin Barlow. He was a sergeant with No. 5 Commando until 1946, seeing action in Norway, Madagascar and Burma, and taking part in the defence of hill 170. In all the years since, he never forgot. He died on 29th December 2010 in Chichester, Sussex, aged 88 years.

Thank you for maintaining the memory of their great sacrifice.

Best wishes,

Tanya Harrington
