Stephen, son of Bill Lewis of 3 Commando, sent me some information back in August which I thought I would now add here so that if ever any of Duncan's relatives searched, they would find it .
Lance Corporal Duncan Thompson Mercer (3773037).
He was in 4 Commando on the Varengeville Battery Raid. He is commemorated at the Brookwood Memorial in Surrey and at the little church in Varengeville- sur-Mer. He worked with my mother as a greengrocers delivery boy and then joined the Kings Regiment. He was very popular and terribly missed.
