It is with sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of Herbert George Edward Huggett of 62 Commando. His grandson Dale had recently contacted the CVA seeking information about his grandfather.

Dale said this in his message to me :
It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Huggy passed away this morning, Totally unexpected he was found this morning "asleep" in his chair at home.

and concluded by saying

I was in awe at his exploits and had total respect for the man

My thoughts are with Dale and all his family

God and the Soldier, all men adore, In time of danger and not before.
When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.
