We have a photo in our RM Commando gallery taken in 1944 of the officers from 48 RM Commando. On checking the names I discovered that seven of these officers were killed in action later that year. I have added their details to the picture which can be seen here :

Captain FREDERICK CHARLES LAURENCE LENNARD
who died age 23 on 06 June 1944
Remembered with honour at BAYEUX WAR CEMETERY

Captain JAMES LAWRY PERRY
who died age 22 on 06 June 1944
Remembered with honour at BAYEUX WAR CEMETERY

Lieutenant EDWARD GEOFFREY CURTIS
who died age 24 on 06 June 1944
Remembered with honour at BAYEUX WAR CEMETERY

Lieutenant THOMAS DAVID YATES
who died age 22 on 06 June 1944
Remembered with honour at BAYEUX WAR CEMETERY

Major DERICK RODERICK DE STACPOOLE
who died age 25 on 01 November 1944
Remembered with honour at BERGEN-OP-ZOOM WAR CEMETERY

Captain RODERICK GIMSON MACKENZIE MC
who died age 24 on 03 November 1944
Remembered with honour at OOSTENDE NEW COMMUNAL CEMETERY

Captain NOEL HERBERT GODKIN MBE
who died age 32 on 04 November 1944
