Hello to all


Do not forget, next 19th August 2010, it will be the 68th anniversary about the DIEPPE RAID.

Hope a lot of people coud attend the ceremonies, to pay a tribute to those who gave their life for us today.

Hope to see you there. I will be there, like every year.

Today is the 68th Anniversary of the raid on Dieppe. Below is a list of those Army and Royal Marines Commandos who fell. If anyone spots an error or omission please private message me and I will amend it.

The following are believed to have served with 10(IA) Commando at Dieppe, and died on or just after the 19th August 1942.

Corporal Serge Moutaillier (French) - wounded and pow, later executed
Private Gustav Oppelt (Czech) 19th August 1942
Private C. Rice (Czech) - POW presumed killed
Private J. Smith (Czech) - POW presumed killed

When the danger is passed and all things righted, God is forgotten, and the Soldier slighted.

Yes Pete, My Gt Uncle Richard's is going to be sent to my mum. She comes back off holiday tomorrow so its going to be a suprise for her.

Have more info on Richard Harding I will submit in another thread. Lorraine
