Here is an extract from Eric Buckmaster of 5 troop No.2 Commando with just a few of his memories of Bill who sadly died this week:
Bill Capp, of 5 Troop, 2 Commando, died this week. Bill was an Ex-Policeman, during his Post War Police Service Days he was attached to various Police Stations around the East End of London. After his wife died he moved from the Isle of Sheppey, and in recent years has lived at Clacton on Sea near his son. He has always kept in touch, and was incredibly cheerful & philosophical. In 5 Troop Bill was a Piat Mortar Operator. A rather primitive weapon, which I can recall that he used rather effectively on a German Tank in the opening stages of the Salerno Operation, and afterwards.

Rest in peace Bill
