And as an additional note, Paul and his lads had just completed the Commando Speed March half an hour earlier. My wife drove them back from Achnacarry House to Spean Bridge afterwards, at speed!

It made the whole weekend very special to have Paul and the lads from Commando D take part in our family event

Gentlemen,

It was an absolute pleasure and honour, and the very least we could contribute to respect all present and all who served.
Many thanks to Geoff for the invitation to present!

It was also a great pleasure to meet Steve, Andy and the hardy Unwin clan and be part of your family gathering and march.

To meet so many veterans over Remembrance weekend was the greatest honour indeed and we arrived back in Edinburgh with many treasured memories and stories, and an even greater sense of real respect and determination to further the efforts of Commando D Living History Group.

Kenny and I posted brief summaries of our weekend and a few photos here -

Many thanks to all who welcomed us in the Fort and we look forward to meeting you all again!

Paul Macdonald
