My father pte William Asquith served with No6 Commando 1941/47 and was in many a conflict , during which he was on occasion severely wounded in salerno 1943, burma, and North Africa. Can any of your esteemed veterans direct me as to the best possible way of obtaining my late fathers war service record.?

Hello Terence. You could check out this previous posting on 'service records, which might help.

http://www.commandoveterans.org/cdoForum/posts/list/33.page

or go under Looking for Information - Service Records, posted in April.

Good luck
