It is with much sadness that I have to report the loss of Pete Dovey BEM 1 Commando who passed away this morning after a short illness.

Pete was a very affable and, typically ,extremely modest man. He was the Chairman of the Lincoln Branch of the old Commando Association and later the CVA branch.

I was very privileged to have served as Secretary for several years at Lincoln and got to know Pete as a friend.

Pete was in 5 troop No 1 Commando and served in India and China.

He was awarded the BEM for his services to industry.

My condolences must go to Eileen his wife and the other members of Pete's family.

Rest in Peace Pete old Friend.
